Sounds French and looks to be Art Deco 1920 and 1930's, exposition held in Paris in 1927.

Art Nouveau French term for New Art Early 1890's and continued for the next 40 yrs.
Furniture, Jewlery, Glass, Pottery, Metal. Id'd by it's flowing lines.

Reached a golden age during second half of 19th Centry.

Glass, not plastic, and would have good value

thanks Dave I don't know if you can tell from my picture, but it appears to be the head of a falcon or eagle on each side and it is very heavy glass. Any ideas where I could start looking for information? thanks a bunch

Ebay is often an awesome source of information, much quicker than a reference library if you happen to be lucky. You were on this one [:)]
