I figure that being as everyone's quarentined and cooped up, now would be a good time to inquire about this "Lactone" bottle. Nothing online, no info from the few bottle guys I know from my region. It's weird because the bottles I see online with the ten pin shape tend to be much older looking (early 1800s to 1850s), but the embossing on this looks like its from the 1890s or 1900s. Bottom's conclave and perfectly smooth mimus a manufacturing defect. As a bonus I've included a pic of another example I found that came up broken.

I believe Lactone was a buttermilk that was popular all over the country in the early 1900's. I could not find an ad with your bottle and their was over 1000 ads, but this ad says it was indeed bottled as well as served at your local soda fountain!

That's 100% it, thanks a ton! Where'd you find the ad? Also do you know what year it's from? I want to comb old local newspapers to see if I can find the bottler

Lactone tablets were made by Parke Davis Co, according to this 1908 ad. Lactone was sold in tablets to drug stores to be used in buttermilk drinks at their soda fountains. The buttermilk could be single served or bottled for home use, or the customer could buy the tablets for home use as well.

All the ads I saw date from 1909 - 1924. The ad I posted is from

But once again, these ads are from all over the country. I subscribe to an online newspaper archive. I use this service to aid in research bottling companies that are local to me. You may be best to try a local newspaper to where you reside.
