I know this is the "What Is It," section, but I thought this was the place for this bottle. We can see this is a "Silver Spring Bottling Works" bottle, but I have not been able to find a reference to it anywhere online. Silver Spring Bottling Works distributed seltzer bottles during the period that they were popular, and information concerning these can be easily found. The seltzer bottles were completely different than this bottle. I will not describe each detail since the images do that. The following information may not be clear in the pictures. The bottle is eleven inches long, and the front slug plate says, "Contents 1 Pint. 12 Fluid Ounces," 28 ounces sounds about right for this bottle. I have never seen embossing near the lip of a bottle before. I would like to know more about this bottle. Ray

What looks like a G to me on the lip may be a date code for Glenshaw Glass Company of Glenshaw, Pa. Glenshaw would have made the bottle for Silver Springs. The G is a date code for 1935. There may be a mark of a G in a square on the bottom of the bottle.

I have 2 smaller silver spring bottling works bottles. 1942 and 1944. 7 fluid oz. No embossing on the neck. I cannot find information on this one and I live in the next town over.

I thought I had attached this image to the first post. There is a large 1926 embossed on the base.

After closer examination under magnification, Above the neck and under the crown or lip on one side is a letter "G" on the opposite side is the number "79" I have updated my post with an image of the base, all I see there is a large 1926. On the backside of the bottle is a large "G" superimposed on a large "R", I guess it could be reversed lol.
