I just picked up these two interesting cans that were from the little known and short lived Capilano Springs Company Limited, Vancouver BC
Capilano Springs brand was registered in 1973-04-04 but used as early as November 01, 1972. The form states it was registered but it was cancelled or invalidated and removed from the registry. I'm not sure about the company being registered as I can't find any info on it.
In 1989 it became inactivated and was picked up by Bev West , then Grey Beverages and has a current active status owned by Pepsi Bottling Group (Canada)

never heard of this one before , heard of a location in BC called capilano springs or similar but not seen this can before

bottled ( canned water in this case ) seems new but has actually been around longer than you'd realise , was a bottler selling water locally where I live back in the 1910's and 20's , there was a large market for it as local lakes polluted from logging and tanneries

Cool finds! Never saw these when I was in BC. Only place I can remember seeing canned water is in emergency ration kits. I'm a bit surprised it hasn't come back since cans are (marginally) better for the environment than plastic bottles. I wonder what baby water was. Just distilled water maybe?

The place you are probably thinking of is Capilano suspension bridge..yes world famous.
Other than canned emergency water or the water for CN and CP rail I have not seen many companies venture into something like this from the early 70's.
I know in Calgary during the 30's they had water contamination problems and all the local soda companies offered delivery of purified water in carboys for dispensers.

I'm not sure if the Baby Water was actually any different than the Pure Canadian Water? So true that cans are so much better environmentally!

Baby water is distilled water with minerals added for taste.

Hi. 'Can' add a a couple more examples from Capilano Springs to this thread - along with some varieties of CP water cans as well as one generic tin. View attachment 220731
Those CP cans are interesting, were they drinking water to be served on trains or did they come from emergency kits?

I don't know if they were served on trains but I found these one along the freight track that ran through our town growing up. Guessing they were for the crew as they may not have had potable water in the engine's/cabooses.
