Hello from New York (soon to be Baltimore though!)

Hi everyone! My name is Rosie and I'm a collector and occasional seller of old bottles, particularly the little medical type. I got into collecting after spending my childhood digging around in an old garbage pit left in the woods by our 90 year old home's previous owner. (My parents aren't the over-cautious type, haha)

Much of the trash was glass bottles, and I've always loved how they look. I'm a huge fan of medical history as well, so that intersection has been a great focus point for my collection. I've done a lot of digging and hiking around the northern Westchester and Putnam areas of New York where I grew up. Last summer at a flea market I had the luck to find a box of 35 or so 1940s homeopathic pill bottles with many pills still inside, and got the whole lot of them for only $10. Probably the luckiest I'll ever get! I kept my favorites and have been selling the others as well as some more lots of bottles and dig finds on my eBay.

Aside from selling bottles, I'm an illustrator that specializes in fantasy art, portraiture, comics, and visual development. History inspires and informs my artistic practice and I particularly love the medieval period.

Has anyone here ever visited Bottle Shop Antiques in Millbrook, NY? It's one of my favorite shops to visit whenever I end up that way. I'm going to miss it, though, because I'm going to be moving to Baltimore soon. If you know of any good places to look or buy bottles there I'd love to hear it. I went to college there and really enjoyed antiques hunting in Hampden, but I didn't see too many bottles so I'd love to know some new suggestions.

Never went to Millbrook before? Is it like Warwick ny. That's a great place if is still like I remember. I got a sizable mortality plate for $30 only thing was I found two of them each on other sides of the building. After playing with them I found it was the two halves of a bigger one! Apparently broken at one time. I got both.

I live in Westchester County and have hundreds of bottles which wound have been disposed of due to his death of our elderly neighbor and his wife sold their house, I’m still in the process of cleaning up the bottles and figuring out what they are but now I’ve fallen in love with these very old bottles from the late 1850s a lot of medical bottles and so much more.
I lived in Maryland years ago and it’s beautiful,
let me know specifically, what name brand you’re looking for. I’ll let you know what I have.
