My guess is a perfume, but have found nothing about it. Could use some help. Top is not original.

I must have had a senior moment, sure I looked that up nothing came up. If I hit his name of what you sent me your response turns up. That happened with me when I posted that two Wagon tax badge I wanted more information and it's sends me to the picture I posted. Thank you for the time you put into it.

I'm pretty sure that book is unrelated to Charles Hedden. Hedden's Store was a historic general store in Oregon run by a totally different person named Hedden, and it closed down in 1976 - two years after that book was published. I think that book was simply a bottle collector's guide which they were selling at the store during the west coast bottle digging craze of the 70s.
In the case of the Charles Hedden bottle, I think you're right that it's a perfume. Both the shape and the use of a neck label are fairly standard for perfumes.

I have to agree with you, the apostrophe s I think changes everything. There is a hedden out of SanFransco that I found, but not much info on it. Nothing from New York?

I don't think Hedden's is the one that the bottle is from. Canadian Bottle posted the same thing I was thinking. The 's throws it off. I found something about C.H. out of Sanfrancisco but why New York on bottle, another head scratcher.

I believe this is your Charles Hedden, of Hedden & Eberhardt, New York, NY, makers of perfumes, toilet waters, sachets and powders. This is a 1915 patent reference.

Also, here is a link to a 1910 announcement of the company incorporating.

The American Perfumer and Essential Oil Review (1906) - Google Books

I believe the bottle is definitely a perfume or a toilet water, though it seems unlikely they would emboss a heart on toilet water.
