So I found this bottle on a new site a few weeks ago. It is listed on eBay for $700 down to $200. Is it really worth that much? There looks to be over 1000 bottles on the site so I'm excited to get out there.

In my experience they are FISHING for suckers. These are by no means rare and are found quite regularly by many folks just searching surface dumps. Can't blame someone for trying, but you can ask whatever price you want for a bottle. I wish I would have saved it, but I saw a GROLSCH beer bottle on feebay and they were asking $5000 for it I recall correctly. These are still sold in most liquor stores. There is also a buddy system that exists on feebay where there will be sales of these listings. Those are fake in that the seller will either have a buddy or a second account. They use that to make a fake sale to justify their asking prices. The sale is fake and never actually takes place. Very sad and fortunately if one watches feebay regularly they can spot these losers. Going to shows and hanging out with bottle collectors is the best way not to get stung and see what an item might actually have value. Collecting friends is the true treasure.

I thought it might be something like that because I can't believe this bottle is worth that much. I appreciate the info.

Well said Bruce. Sad truth, and it's only getting worse. This should be in the scam thread.

BullSh**, is what this is. Always ask here before you ever buy. You'll get the truth.

There actually is a Mountain Dew NDNR bottle which tends to sell for absurdly high prices when it does show up for sale, but it is not yours.

I'm surprised that they're bothering to lower the price on that Ebay one, I wonder if they really are so clueless that they think it's valuable or if they're slowly resigning themselves to hoping for a slightly more reasonable sucker to come along.

Well who wouldn't want a Mountain Dew Party Jug?

And those prices are all listed today. The price wasn't lowered that I know of.

Oh I thought you meant that it was one person who kept changing the listing price over time.
Completed listings will give you a more accurate price for things. This one sold for $13 with one bid: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1748984420...=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
This one didn't manage to get any bids at all at $15: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2652696660...=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Could you please explain how you search completed listings on Ebay?
