An "open" pontil scar is the same as a "blow-pipe pontil scar."
A "snap" pontil scar sounds like a collector coinage for a "glass-tipped" pontil scar.
The multi-sided bottle in this thread has a blow-pipe pontil scar. I think these are generic medicine bottles.

Informative post, as usual, Harry. Open pontil is the terminology I have heard and read in bottle collecting books since 1971. "Snap pontil scar" is a newly encountered term for me.
