Nice acl quart. Any pictures of the base and lip? It looks in great shape. Lot of Big Chief collectors. Do you know how much you want or what it’s worth?I have this bottle we came across and we are wondering how to go about selling it.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
I don't have a picture of top. It has a cap on it. It's in great shape. I don't know anything about price. That's why I'm trying to find someone that deals with the Big Chief bottles.Nice acl quart. I feel stupid, but what does ACL stand for?Wow, that's a beautiful Big Chief bottle! Big Chief bottles are generally very popular among collectors, and this one happens to be rare. I have a similar Big Chief to that one, from the same bottler in Roseburg, but with a volume of 7 oz. The 7 oz version is rare, but your quart version is rarer. May I ask where you found it?
On the base, the 9 on the right side of the symbol indicates that the bottle was made in 1939 by the Owens-Illinois Glass Company.
As far as value goes, it's tough to know exactly how much it might go for since they come up so rarely. I can't recall ever seeing one for sale, and I've been collecting ACL bottles for close to ten years. I wouldn't be surprised to see it sell for at least $750 on eBay as long as there's no damage around the lip. Very few ACLs go for that much money, but even that estimate might be conservative since this one is tough to find. Congratulations on a great bottle!
Applied Color Label. No problem. There is a glossary of bottle term abbreviations. Maybe better but here is one for you. Here is a picture of some Acl soda bottles I have.I feel stupid, but what does ACL stand for?
I'm going to try putting it on ebay, if I can figure that out.
Thanks again for all your information.
