I grew up in Laurel and still don’t know what that W means. If it is associated with the distributor, I believe the local Watkins family may have been owners at one time but as I don’t collect coke bottles, it may have something to to with the manufacturing process or a factory designation for instance.

Hello Eightball1, I emailed Bill Lockhart (archeologist, writer, and serious researcher on glass factories and marks used on their bottles) and he told me the "W" on the base of your bottle indicates the WACO, TEXAS glass bottle factory location of Owens-Illinois.
