I've got this calabash bottle flask with a pictorial of a straw bushel split in the middle with a rake/hoe, and on the opposite side it has a star with 8 points.

I've been able to Identify most of my uncle's historical flask collection through research on the internet so I haven't needed to buy the McKearin book to identify any, but this one is stumping me. If anyone has the McKearin and Wilson bottle book and could help me identify what this mold/bottle would have been categorized as I would really appreciate the help!

If it helps, the bottle is 9.5" tall with the cork.

Hi buenaventura,

Your calabash appears to be a GXIII-43 which is similar to GXIII-41 which has SHEETS & DUFFY embossed in a semi-circle above the eight pointed star/ornament.
-
In the 1978 edition of American Bottles & Flasks and Their Ancestry by Helen Mckearin and Kenneth M. Wilson the embossing on your example above the star/ornament is described as 'Faint semicircular band, about 1/2" wide, with 7 wide-spaced faint small disks'. The GXIII-41 is described as scarce, however,
your example is unfortunately described as common.
-
Hope this helps.

:)
