Tall with a green gradient, olive oil bottle, maybe?

I'd love to know the approximate date, and the original function of this bottle? Anything anyone can tell me about it would be wonderful, really! This is from my family estate, so it could have originated in the New England area, which is where most of my family lived.

So, I'm really just taking a shot here and guessing while waiting to see what information other members have.

It's a shape similar to typical olive oil bottles; but it is so slender that I question that was its original contents because it would not hold much volume. It would also be very unstable on a dining table, prone to tip over with the slightest nudge: "Pass the salt please--oops!"

I'm thinking some toiletry product or essence.

Yes, it is quite tippy. We keep it laid on it's side in a display cabinet. I wouldn't feel comfortable with it upright without some sort of stand for it.
