Howdy All! I'm Teddy and I'm a hollerin'!

Listen, please. I'm new 'round these parts and I need a li'l souther' hospitality.

I come up agains' sum 16 vintage "filled by" Mountain Dew bott'ls. I aint rich and I sells to survive on ebay. I done looked over whats valuable and I'm tryin' to educate myself on what's what.

I'm stimied.

Do I clean the bott'ls or not. Do I sell'm all at once or fig'r which names might bring more? Theyre all in great shape I only have four with two names matchin'.

Help apricated. I wanna make good dough. I always give excellent auctions. Im just lost comin' to bott'ls.

Thanks!

Welcome to the site! That's a lot of named Mountain Dew bottles in one place! I recommend selling one at a time in an auction, since you said auctions are what you prefer. Personally I prefer "buy it now" but that's just me. With the economy in the gutter, you may only get a few bids on a bottle. Many people don't have disposable income to spend on hobbies now. Try cleaning them with alcohol prep pads. Just don't press too hard on that ACL. Making them look more clean and presentable should get a better price.

Leave em' be. Make certain they are 1000000% dry before trying to clean ACL (exterior), and even then, go easy!

I've ruined some cool ones...

Cool bottles tho.

Interior is easy. Tiny bits of copper wire (12 AWG or close), warm soapy water and vigorous shaking.

To me, alcohol pads on ACL seems like a no-no?

But I've deal with ACL ink of various qualities and tolerances to the extreme..

As far as I know some names are worth more then others. You might get $5.00 for a common name but maybe $100 on a rarer name. Good Luck. LEON.

I just cleaned this 1952 ACL bottle with an alcohol prep pad yesterday. After finding the bottle in the ground the same day. I stand by my results. Alcohol removes the dirt but not the paint.

Nice.
After some experiences I've personally had, I er on the side of caution.
