Hi all, new member here who spends time treasure hunting in three areas. Right now headquartered out of san luis obispo, ca but originally from east county san diego. Also spend time near tahlequah oklahoma every year. Grew up in rural america and im really hoping to learn bottle digging from you all. I have no interest in making money on bottles but would love to find some that are connected to the towns ive lived in.

I have an immense appreciation for our ancestors who built this country and i am fascinated by the historic elements of bottle hunting and treasure hunting. I'm a younger guy, 38, and am willing and able to rough it to look for good locations to hunt for bottles but ill never ask any of you to share your spots, more just your wisdom.

If anyone runs across any bottles from buckman springs or julian cider, im a legitimate buyer and i am aware of what the most recent buckman bottles have sold for, yet im still interested! Thank you all for your contributions, id love to meet bob from lake morena if anyone knows if he's still around.

Look on riverbanks near historically inhabited areas. If you see old wooden pilings in the mud you may find some artifacts near them. Glass is a lower density than mud/silt so it will often float near the surface of the low tide mud. I live in NYC so I can only tell you techniques from my experience here. If I were you I would go to Morro Bay and start there. Check the tides and go when it's low. Bottles usually accumulate toward the back of bays and the mouths of rivers as the incoming waves push them there over the years.

Wow! Well traveled are ya? Tahlequa is such a beautiful place! The arrowheads that are found in that area ; wowza! I'm new to all this also. I'm from Central Oklahoma, about an hours drive from OKC. Good luck!
