Sorry, replied in error. Looking forward to seeing this bottle at auction.
Np. It's slated for the July American Glass Gallery auction if all goes according to plan. Glad I am able to introduce it to the hobby after being rescued from obscurity. Great looking bottle and being embossed makes it an important example with a history that can be researched. Johnny M.

Out of the like 20 different newspaper articles I can find on this Brewery, every one of them call them Heberer Brewery. Which makes me wonder if the name on Bottle is misspelled? Leon.

It is embossed T. Heberer. I have the pic of embossing in my gallery archive in Google photos.

I actually made mistake in first post. I misspelled in text of info I found. Be that as it may, it's gonna be fun when it hits the block. I go nuts when rare pickles come up. This bottle was so cool to handle though. Real heavy, nice pontil and rich aqua color and the splitting image of a real keg barrel of beer, staves and all! Johnny M.

You should do good on it, I'd like to see what it gets, Any 1850's or early1860's Pontiled Beer embossed is Rare in my opinion. Seems like 1850's Pontiled embossed soda's are more commonly found then beers but none are really common. Any idea on what you think it might get? Post link when it goes to Auction. LEON.

I'm not sure of value as I have been told that nobody has seen one at auction. I have a few pickles like that so I understand why bottles you can't replace are rarely if ever sold publicly and I suspect treaties form between life long collector friends to sell/trade some unseen stuff between them so sales are unlikely outside private circles. A friend of mine has a great pickle and we are likely to make a deal this year for it. He got it eons ago and is a real closet collector. Very private guy . Anyway, I suppose market for the bottle will be established when it goes off. I really liked it but it belongs with the collectors whom appreciate this type if bottle like I go ga ga over colored pickles! Johnny M.

Hey guys, any body ever seen this iron pontiled barrel shaped beer or brewery bottle from Belleville Illinois? Can only find reference to the brewery as being established in the 1850's by the Herberer Brothers City Park Brewery in Belleville. This bottle is embossed: "T. Heberer (not Herberer) & Bros. Belleville Ills." Bottle has a smooth label panel under the name and the rest is paneled or sided like an actual barrel. Nice iron pontil too! A little sick inside only. An easy tumble and very heavy glass. Stands about 9 1/2" tall.
Hey guys. The Belleville Barrel will be in American Glass Galleries July sale. I had it tumbled too by an associate of John Pastor whom he recommended as top notch. Came out top shelf. Just a heads up so anybody interested can at least watch it when it goes up. I collect colored cathedral pickles or I definitely would have kept it. Glad I rescued it from obscurity for the hobby.
