Antique Coca-Cola Embossed Pittsburg Bottle

Year Made: 1910 or 1911
Glassmaker: Dominick O. Cunningham (D.O.C.)
Color: amber/brown
Product: Coca-Cola
Bottler: Coca Cola, Pittsburg, PA
Volume: 8 fluid ounces
Height: 7 7/8 inches
Weight: 13.5 ounces
Diameter: 2 1/4 inches
Seams: 2 seams fade away on the neck (blown-in-mold)
Label Type: embossed
Closure type: pry-off metal cap
Notes: This bottle was found in a creek bed after high waters had washed it out of the woods. The unusual spelling of Pittsburg on this bottle is because in 1890, the United States Board of Geographic Names ruled that all cities ending in ?burgh? must drop the ?h? to help bring uniformity to city names. Known as a straight-side bottle, or SS.
