he said it took all of 6 months to get most of them changed. they always had a few that were used right up til the end that were changed after the new year started. From what I understood they generally had a spare for around half of all the molds that were being used. just in case they had one...

After talking with him he said he generally started changing the mold dates around June because there were so many of them. But they did not run them until December

thanks for the insight. he has good days and bad so the next time he has a good day and I can get over to see him I will definitely ask about the date codes He talks about about his specific job, he was the engraver that changed the dates on the molds. he also talked to me about making molds...

I'm very curious about the green Alabama coke bottle. There are about 10 of the clear ones but only 1 green. Papaw said it was the wrong color glass put on the line that got the wrong sticker. When they pulled interesting bottles off the line he would try to grab them before they were reported...

any item that I have was put under the house between 1960 and 1980. so I know they are pre 1980 at the least. I'm not sure if he brought any with him when moving into the house but the house was purchased in 1960. The Chattanooga glass company closed around 1982 I think and my fiance purchased...
