What is it?
Must be fire grenades I've torn up the house looking for the article and Internet search reveals no such beast. It must have been fire grenades. Thanks for all your help in guiding me there.- Ad in Lancaster

What is it?
I don't think so I don't think they were fire grenades. My recollection is these were open glass containers. The ones I remember from the pictures were cobalt and turquoise. Thanks for the response.- Ad in Lancaster

Excuse my ignorance in such matters, but I believe there is a name for the glass containers that used to be kept in homes to douse women's dresses when they caught on fire from fireplaces, etc. I would like to find one.
