Is this a Georgia Coke? Rain and snow hasn't helped my digging. After the heavy equipment scraped the ground I'm finding good signs of older pops. 4-6 sights on this lot look promising. Last week I found this. Best I can tell its a Vidalia, Georgia Coca Cola bottle. But what would it be...
I like using the Sanborns, dowsing with copper rods and probing. Dowsing is way easier than probing. Probing is my final verification. A grave and privy both swing dowsing rods. Rick from Kansas
Thanks for your response. Property is all open and I've got several months to dig. Going to probe and dowse this weekend. I've dug 6 privies. 2 good ones and 4 marginal one. Here is my first dig.
I got 4 privies to check out in a downtown location. Friend owns the site and just bulldozed the lot to fresh black topsoil. I picked this glass up at lunch time today....This stuff was just laying on the ground. Hope find some cool pop bottles and pharmacies. Rick from Kansas
Nice find. I'm south of Lawrence an hour. Did some privy digging a while back. Looking for local pops and drugstores. Here is my dig video. Watch "Privy Digging in Kansas" on YouTube

Its been a few years since I've dug. Ken saw my video on youtube and stopped by my barbershop. My daughter and I assisted Ken and his son Owen in a local privy dig. 1880 Hotel site, not much to offer. I've got lots of permissions. We stopped at the seed layer, Ken probed and said it felt...
Got permission from a landlord who owns several 1860-80's houses. My daughter and I have been working one over the past few days.
We dowsed 3 nice rectangles 30' apart from each other, probed them today. One seemed promising as I hit broken glass, dug a test hole about 2'. A few shards of...
Nice dig and finds! Me and my daughter are working on a 1860's house with a open backyard. Dowsed two rectangles, need to probe this weekend. Hope I have 1/3 the luck you had!
Nice pictures.

Dug stone liner last spring, probed a spot adjacent to it. Dug it this weekend. It was about 2 foot deep then very hard black clay/dirt, no walls. Broken stuff on top 1 foot. Seemed like there was a lot of burnt coal and cinders. The soft dirt followed the east wall of the privy down. I'm...
I need to think about her name for a second, it was 1974. Short hair, tall, Mary Beth something, she had a sister. Back seat of my 68 Pontiac gravel road north of town.
She had nice white teeth and was smart in math and played clarinet. That's all I remember.
