How do you find good older dumps and other places to dig?

I was wondering if anyone with more experience in digging could give me (and others) some pointers on locating dumps and other digging sites. Maybe even some pictures of where you dig. I'm not wanting you to give away your spot or anything just trying to see what a good dump looks like and how...

Marbles picked up today any good ones?

the joyce products company columbus ohio 7up

Here's one I dug the other day. The bottom is slick the edge of bottom has the Joyce Co info around it and the side has 7UP embossed. Curious of the date and any other information thanks

New Digger in Ohio

This area is a steep hill on the edge of town on some old maps at the bottom of the hill, which is just swampy now, marked gravel something cant make it out. I'm finding the 50s-70s stuff on the surface of the hillside in an area of about 100yards or so. most of the surface stuff is...

New Digger in Ohio

I found a place loaded with glass on top of the ground mostly all broken ranging from 1970s to 1950s. Did a little digging and found a few milks. My question is how do I tell if this is a dump or a place where they backfilled with stuff? Hope that makes sense?
