    Some new digs

Hi everyone, It's been a long time (over three years) since I've gone out bottle digging but I was finally able to dig the old dump this past weekend. I've been in this spot for nearly 7 years, and most of the items have been 1930-50s; however, I've gotten into an older, TOC layer. Only thing...

    A little summer digging

Hey all! I can honestly say it's been way too long since I've gone digging...about three years for me. Before I head back to college, I wanted to at least revisit my old dump site and see, after all these years, if any new bottles would turn up. So I called up a friend and we ventured out in the...

    Anyone willing to help?

Hey all, I have had a long passion to dig privies. So far, I've just dug dumps. In the area I live, there is unforeseen potential for privy digging. I have the tools necessary to dig, but I don't have much experience doing this. I think the best way for me to advance in this hobby is to observe...

    Calvert brick

Hey guys! It's been a while since I've posted. Anyway, today my friend and I were walking through the woods and we found a few bricks. This was the only one that had any identification on it. All it says is CALVERT. It looks pretty old...what do you guys think? Also, how common are these...

Help with dating Ball Mason Jar

    I'm thinking it's 1970s. Here's a link to help. http://balljars.net/ball_jar_progression.htm

It's that time of year again...

Got out to the property after school...still lots of brush. Only had 10 good minutes of daylight to explore the creek (of what I could get to). Very promising. Some surface junk scattered everywhere. All of it being rusty metal. Didn't get any good pictures...bad lighting...sorry about that...

It's that time of year again...

Time for the cool air to come in and the brush in the woods to go away. I am so excited this year! In addition to the previous dump I've been digging, I got a new spot. It was the site of an 1820s blacksmith shop and possibly a pathway during the Civil War. I'm going out there tomorrow to scout...
