Oops, wanted to add My condolence to Your family, and that the dated tin lid and clamp are of more value than the jar and are listed as uncommon..

    Beech Nut Jar

These jars are listed in the Red Book of FRUIT JARS #430-432 , and value is listed in the $10-15 range. The early jars had ham/bacon and the BEECH-NUT Co. also made Ketchup, baby food and of course chewing gum in the early 1900's.. As ROBBYBOBBY64 said nice jar and cool story..

    One for Red

While going through a box of stuff I dug years ago, I ran across this little bottle, and thought Red would enjoy it.. The bottle is 3 7/8 in. tall by 1 1/2 in. across the base.. I cannot see a seam line above the ring, there are 2 internal lugs inside the mouth and 3 of the 4 corners have ridges...

    Straight sided Orange Crush..??

There was a thread about these bottles in the soda section a year or so ago, these are seen often here in central NY.. I think these were flavor bottles and not ORANGE CRUSH, they came in larger sizes and in some killer colors of green as well.. My guess is it would date to the late teens or...

The Red Book # 10 lists two different stoppers for THE RAMSEY JAR ... #1:Deep round recess in top... #2: Deep round recess in top with 1/2" raised center button.. Closure value:15-20%- QT Aqua $3,000 and up... This would also fit if correct, the DOCTOR RAMSEY jars, which book even higher than...
