The first pontil of my new collection

To answer an old question. I moved from Ky. to Fl. and found myself in need. Being disabled and all my old skills required a strong back so it made it hard to come up with the cash my family need at the time. So I did what was necessary. Besides I have always been a Maverick ie. liked all types...

Old medicine bottle? What are the markings? Need help!

Can't tell with out closer inspection but kind of looks like in was made in a worn out mold or a peened out mold .Then a paper label was used.

49th Sun Coast Bottle Show

It's in Palmetto at the Convention center these days .It's been a pretty nice show the last couple of years .I will get some pictures this year. Bill

What I do with some of that broken glass we all find.

Thank you all! Eric I'll tell you I've been at it a little over a year and I have thrown a few fits .The long blades are the ones that get me. I'll get almost done and try an tweak it and "Snap" it just became a bird point . Part of the fun is making the tools to do it with to. I use antler some...

What I do with some of that broken glass we all find.

Here is a few points I've made. Most are of glass and there are a few from obsidian which knaps like glass. I'm always looking for glass to work with to if anyone wants to sale or trade some. Bill

Medium to large flat bottle shardes wanted

Thanks Mark No it does not matter if there's is embossing .It will be flaked off during the knapping process. I'm using beer bottle bottom right now . They are a real challenge because there both concave and convex .Flat glass is much easier to work and you can make bigger points and knife...
