    What is this thing?

I have one backet of shards, and it includes pieces of Montreal Telegraph Co. CD143 insulators (I am a collector). I am actually trying to get permission to dig there as it is currently a vacant lot. So far I have barely scratched the surface, as I wanted to remain discreet until I have...

    What is this thing?

The width of it is about 1 inch. I personally dug it with a pile of cullet at the site of the St. John's Glass Company in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu Quebec Canada. They operated from 1875 to 1880 before moving to Montreal. Towards the end of their stay in Saint jean they became the Excelsior Glass...

    What is this thing?

Can anyone identify this glass "thing" I found? It is part of something larger, and the two chunks I found connect at one point, and this is how I have photographed them. In the second picture you can see there were thin walls that have broken off. The only info I have is that it was dug at...

    If you were gunna dig...

It's actually a Canadian city, so the maps is by the Charles Goad company. The land was actually subdivided as early as 1879, but it's hard to say when the houses went up. For this area there are no older maps, as the area was part of a village that was annexed a year before the maps was made.

    If you were gunna dig...

At this time I am only investigating possibilities. If it's worth digging, then I will try getting permission. Technically it's part of a large area of parkland, and conservation officers do monitor it. I was caught hunting for insulators in anothe spot owned by the same authority, and basically...

    If you were gunna dig...

Hi folks, I'm a newbie who's minaly been an insulator hunter, but I have recently become interested in privy digging. I have attached an image of part of a block shown on a fire insurance plan from 1912. Currenlty the block is vacant and overgrown public land. Looking at the plan, one can see a...

    John Collins ACL Soda Bottle

Good evening! Yesterday I found a 10oz. John Collins Soda bottle in a local dump that was abandoned in 1965. It is in fairly good shape, most of the ACL is there, and the white parts are a bit yellowy. It's got the big red JC on the front with the "Yours Truly John Collins" script on the...

    Emond Laboratories Ottawa Canada

And on the rear we have a beaver embossing with maple leaves. I don't expect it to be worth a whole lot, but I am curious as to what it actually contained. Chris

    Emond Laboratories Ottawa Canada

I found this beastie today in a dump turning up lots of 30's era glass. It is embossed "Emond Laboratories Ottawa Canada" and has a tiny hole in the top that lets liquid dribble out. The bottle is base embossed <D> so was made by Dominion Glass of Wallaceburg ON.
