WHAT KIND OF FLASK IS THIS??

Roadtoad, That is certainly a most iinteresting flask you have acquired. The crude applied lip would definitely make your flask quite old. You should be able to find out much information here. Nice pictures...details came out great. Awesome find.

Kent Ohio, Perhaps an object might be better with a story behind it. I sincerely believe this bottle,however.can stand alone upon its own merit. I posted such a lengthy family history simply because I thought it might be of some aide in obtaining an accurate dateline for the bottle.This bottle...

Craig, Very nice find indeed! Nothing quenched a summer thirst quite like an ice cold Frostie Root Beer. Those were the days. Those bottles are in most excellent condition. Happy digging

Kent Ohio, thank you for your reply. How do you explain the air bubbles and applied top, as I was under the impression that bubbles and applied tops had been eliminated long before 1940.
