    Properties and Principles of Glass

Thanks guys. Looks like it's a much bigger operation than I previously thought.

    Properties and Principles of Glass

The telescope lenses at Corning were probably convex or concave or whatever its called. I imagine those would need to be absolutely flawless in every way which may be tougher than pouring a solid block.

    Properties and Principles of Glass

The annealing can be avoided fairly easily right? Pour the glass into the mold inside an oven then cool it very slowly? I saw Corning did that. I read an art sculpture was made of glass about those dimensions which is the largest ever but turned up no info on it. It's top secret. I just...

    Properties and Principles of Glass

Can anyone tell me if glass can be melted and poured into a large quantity say like a 10ft^3 area without severe fracturing or anything which may weaken the overall structural integrity. Also how strong would that block of glass be? Could you crash a car into it at any certain speed without...

    River Finds Two

Again back when I used to snorkel. 2010-2015 MA/NH/VT rivers, streams, creeks, whatever had the magic current. Even swift water with boulders, the bottles get tucked into the rocks. I love those spots. 2-10 ft of water.

    Biggest find ever

Line up the insulators and take a few pics straight on. Don't slant the camera from above... take photos that are like dead ahead straight on. Otherwise it can be difficult to ID.

    River Finds

Where I am now... I guess the fire dept. will fill tanks for divers. And I'm going to be stationed here for a few years anyway. How about rebreather or hookah. Hookah wouldn't be good too many snags like you said. Think I would need to be certified to buy and use a compressor. Rebreather would...

4 clear insulators and metal attachment found in woods

I don't see a hydro communication line using tramps. they usually ran 2 wires. Sort of overkill. But I'm not an expert on the subject.

    River Finds

I have SCUBA gear but getting air around here is another story. So I've always free dove usually with a 5mm suit, belt and fins. I've pulled bottles upwards of 15 feet but I'm at the point where doing that all day, I'm nervous about shallow water blackout. Also I cant stay down long enough to...

    River Finds

Empire Mineral Water. Ill post a pic when I get a chance. The thought was that they were gravitating stoppers for awhile but then documentation showed them to be Hutch bottles.
