I've tumbled many bottles with cracks, some severe, some not so much. I'm happy to say that all were successfully cleaned with no further damage to the effected area. There's a lot of variables to consider before attempting tumbling. Are you prepared...
Mike, if you haven't already, try contacting the Baltimore Bottle Club... www.baltimorebottleclub.org/ and another good resource is the 'bottlecollectors' bottle club in Yahoo Groups.

There are quite a few privy diggers on this forum, and, if you're going to the Baltimore show on Mar 7, you should be able to find them there. I believe there is going to be a booth with them plus lessons on how to use them.

Wow. What a great Demi...kudos on the photography and well placed text on photos. I've seen some in less appealing shape at antique shops for $125, so you can get a good idea from that and all the other great input here. It's an eyecatcher alright. Really nice...

I agree that the Glass Makers Factory marks site is comprehensive, I've use it many times myself. You might also consider the resources found at: http://www.sha.org/bottle/makersmarks.htm. I've found them to be most helpful as well. Happy hunting!
