Nice mix of ACL bottles from between 1940 and about 1960. Most of those embossed screw tops ain't worth much but still pretty cool. Some acls though are worth a pretty penny. Don't scrub the paint all too much be gentle!
I bought this pot last week in a decent sized collection. A good mix of rarities and basic bottles. I feel like I've seen one of these before but I can't remember where. It's machine made with a bakelite screw lid. Not a ground lip so it is definitely 1915-1950 I suppose but, I'd like a...
Man you ever seen the hovercraft history hunters on YouTube (SiFinds YT). Too bad those crafts weren't cheaper. I know there's also mud shoes (I don't exactly remember what they're called) but they act like snow shoes, it prevents you from sinking into the mud by evening out your weight.
I love these bottles with misspellings. Down here in Hawaii, a large immigrant population paired with the majority of the population speaking Pidgin English, we have a good few misspelled bottles. Oftentimes the misspellings were on purpose because that's how the words were pronounced. Wonder...
Harmony of Boston was a perfume company. They were a long lived company and used many different types of bottles. Usually they come in tiny little bottles. I've never seen this type of bottle before and to see it in desert purple is super cool. It's pre-1915 as the Manganese glass used to make...
Purex has a 1960 date code and was made by the Owens-Illinois Glass Co. The Eagle has no telltale marks but if it was found next to the purex, I would imagine it's around the same age
My digging habits are very much the same. Not too much bottle real estate around me and I never really find much when I hike about
I assume you know how to identify date codes and whatnot on bottles. I noticed that at times, a lack of a particular product until a certain time period (in your...
Although Wikipedia is not the best source, it says the town had the variant spelling of "Bellmont". The town was founded in 1886 and by 1900 only had a population of 90 people!!! I would suspect that these bottles are pretty rare based on the tiny size of the town.
It's possible though that if...
Keep at it. You've got a good start. Keep digging and if the conditions allow it, dig deeper! I've been in some dumps that were used for decades. 70s on top and 1900 at the bottom.
TLDR, I have a Japanese beer that I assume is pre-war but has a basemark from a glassworks in Pennsylvania. How old is it and was it indeed made in PA?
Hi folks. Not often that I post one of my own bottles on here but I recently acquired this unusual Japanese beer from a friend of mine on Big...
