Made plans to visit a antique store that I hadn't been to. Brought along my trading stock in case I seen a bottle I didn't have in my collection.
Found several "Soda King" bottles on a shelf that I didn't have and in discussing them with the owner and ACL bottles in general she wished she had...
Picked up some 7up bottles last weekend and sorting through them.
Grabbed one and it felt odd. Closer look and it has a dent in the side. Seen plenty of dented cans but no bottles. Rare? I have never come across one before.
Maybe, but the bottle was found in the trunk of a car that has been sitting there for awhile. Plus one of the pictures didn’t load and shows that it may have not made it through the printing process correctly.
My son found this 16oz "no Dew Mountain Dew" bottle while at a automobile salvage yard.
Some stains on it that I am working on trying to remove. Any ideas on removing them?
Makes a nice addition to my 10oz no Dew Mountain Dew.
Visited a 2nd hand store in a small town we were vacationing near. Came across this Hi-Top brand bottle. Can't find much in googling for information, most results seem to be for high top shoes with a pop brand on them.
Found these on a Facebook ad. Seller says one of the Pepsi's has a paper label. Every Pepsi bottle I have seen from this era is ACL. Rare?
I have included part of their description-
"Two Pepsi bottles from the 1940s and 50s. The 10 oz. has a painted label and the 12 oz has a paper body label...
I suggested manila tape as the image will show through and you can cut "on the lines" Frog Tape or other painters tape is not see through and will hide the label so you have no idea where to cut.
If you really want to try and repaint take some 2" or wider plain manila masking tape and tape over your label. Take an X-Acto knife (or similar) and cut out what you want to repaint. Multiple colors you may need to cut out 1 color, paint, then cut out the other color. Requires a steady hand but...
I guess another case of rare doesn't = valuable.
Due to the distance I need to travel and like cokemanracer, I only have a few 16oz I will pass on this bottle.
7 Citrus, not sure what to call it.
Place a WTB ad on Craigslist for old soda pop bottles.
Guy sent me a picture of these, Frostie is familiar but I never have heard of Citrus 7. Quick google search shows not much information on it. I would normally pass on it due to it being a 16 oz. bottle...
Visiting an antique store several weeks ago looking for ACL soda pop bottles and the owner dug a paper lunch bag out of his back room and said I might be interested in it. The bag had about 50 cork lined bottle caps. Bought it and started sorting through it this weekend. Most of the caps were...
I was surprised that it made it into a case of filled bottles. You would think that as many steps the bottle went through, printing, washing, filling, packaging, somebody would have caught it.
Been collecting ACLs for almost 50 years. For several years was allowed into the local Pepsi plant’s warehouse to pick up cases of pop for my pop machine. Would generally look for the “Hillbilly “ Mountain Dew bottles when getting a case. Found this one, probably the most unique bottle I have.
