Large Bottle ~ Indented Sides - Very Unusual

Hello All, For me, this is an unusual bottle. ~ Clear Glass ~ NO SEAM MARKS ~ 12" tall - 3 3/4"base ~ Indented on the sides ~ Heavy, thick glass ~ Plain neck (thick and wide) 1. Any ideas as to the age ?? 2. Any ideas as to the purpose of the bottle Thank you for your assistance. John
