New variant of Malamphy's Narrows" bottle from Cumberland. MD

Found this newly discovered green 7 ounce size this past fall...one of my favorite finds of 2017!

Hi, was just looking at older posts about Cumberland MD bottles and seen your Hering & Son blob top. Question is do you still have this bottle? If so, would you sell it? I'm a collector of Cumberland bottles and this is one I need for the collection. Thanks, Tim McGuire

Looking for pre-1900 Bottles from Allegany, County, Maryland

I'm a collector of local, Western Maryland bottles. Cumberland, Frostburg, Lonaconing, Westernport, Oakland. Many small towns.

Olive-Coke & Crush

I have the Binghampton Coke in Aqua and 2 different shades of olive. All applied tops and crude. Most likely for flavors, but bottlling companies did break the rules back then. The only other olive straight sided Coke I know of is a script Machine-made bottle from Canada. Tim

Hi, Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I'm not sure what maker that is. Bill Porter's guess in his Coke Bottle Checklist is Owens Bottle Company. That's about all I can tell you. It is a common mark. Tim

PIQUA OHIO COKE BOTTLES

Piqua has some fairly nice Coke bottles. Block letter logo straight-sided Coke bottles were made for other flavored beveragesfrom the 1910s to the 1950s. Yours looks to be in the 1920-30s range. I used to have a nice pair of PI-QUA-LITY bottles. One had an embossed Indian head on it. The other...

Bedford, PA bottle show?.

Here's my close-ups of the "H. BORGMAN / MINERAL WATER / MANUFACTURER / CUMBERLAND, MD." torpedo IP. Sweet bottle! As I said before...wished I still had this one! I know of an older fellow in Wiley Ford, WV who has a very rough one. He found while fixing a water main break in Cumberland...

Bedford, PA bottle show?.

I never knew Cumberland had such bottles back in 88 or 89 when I purchased it. Attic mint it was. I'll post some other photos later on tonight. I have a few close-ups. Tim

Bedford, PA bottle show?.

As far as I know, they are not. It's not on any show schedules. They didn't have one last year, to my knowlege, either. I married a Somerset Co. gal a few months ago and have developed an interested in their bottles as well as Cumberland, MD ones. This show had alot of Bedford & Somerset...

Yeah, ACL labels, especially those early ones from the later 30s through the early 40s, are hard to find intact. Later ACL's seem to draw rust in the ground. I've found many with the rust colored stains. Burried with old cans and the like I suppose. Nice bottles btw! Tim

coke bottle

I'm pretty sure the 77 means 1977 was bottles year of manufacturer. Not sure of about the more modern bottle makers. After the late 1950s Coca-Cola placed random cities and states on the bottom of Coke bottles. Before the King Size Coke bottle era of 1955, 6 1/2, 10, 12, 16 and 26 ounce...
