I'm back, finally, sorry for not checking in sooner (life issues). We collected over 400 intact bottles from that Mandeville Inn "kitchen midden" dig, Apparently finding a high percentage of intact bottles is unusual. My friend Tony must have found the same dump! He brought me a nice blob-top embossed McDonough & Company, First and Henderson JC along with This Bottle Never Sold. An investigative video I found dates it to 1884-1885.- NJ_Bottle_Digger

Odol was the first commercially produced antiseptic mouthwash, created c1892 by a German named Karl Lingner. By the early 1900s it was made in England as well. Ancient muffin? No, this is serious.

There once was a historic 1700s Mandeville home in Pompton Plains NJ. By 1900 it had become the Mandeville Inn. It was a high-end place; it survived Prohibition (guess how?) but not the Depression. Like many hotels, they buried their trash. And I'm in two groups who have teamed up to unearth it...- NJ_Bottle_Digger
