    Thanks everyone. Surf, where do you come up with all this info lol? I left the stuff on it because I know some people like "as found". Bunch of that dried up inside it too. If you want it let me know, it is a nice bottle. Billy

    Well I guess I posted this in the wrong section huh? I thought it was pretty old, but it's in such good shape I wanted to get confirmation from those in the know. The stuff on the outside, which you dubbed "asphalt like" and fits it well, comes off easily with just a fingernail. But wondering...

    And this bottle, stoneware? Someone point me in right direction to find info? Really can't figure out if it's older or newer, and what it contained. Whatever is dried on outside of it is also dried on inside. Guess my biggest question is how to tell how old it is? Billy

    Maker of this decanter?

    Hey everyone, Wondering if anyone can tell me who made this bottle? Bottle made mid 50s I believe, by Anchor. Haven't been able to identify the crest or coat of arms that's on the top. Any help appreciated. Billy

    The hat is a Fenton. The pattern is called Daisy and Button. The smaller hats were made in the 30s, then discontinued around 39. Reintroduced in the 60s I believe. Billy

    Yeah that's the only one I could find too, but I believe that bottle may be newer. Fayen is written at an angle across the neck of the bottle, whereas this one is in straight block letters on the body. And that bottle has a smooth finish, this one is ribbed everywhere except where there is...
