    Cleaning zinc jar lid

What is the best method for cleaning zinc mason jar lids? I can just barely see the punch stamped label "Ball" on top and could make it worse by improper cleaning methods.

    Zinc lid era

Found a Ball zinc lid with inserted milkglass cap underneath with raised lettering "GENUINE ZINC CAPS FOR MASON JARS". About when was the end of the zinc lid era? I got a feeling not too long ago. ? for same lid in CLEANING FORUM

    Ginger Beer Project

Soaking in distilled water for now. Biggest fault I discovered is that is was exposed to extreme heat ,"dump burn", even contact with a flame (about 10 o'clock above label) More than likely this bottle will end up displayed with my "looks better rusted" incl. an eggbeater, '33 lic. plate, and a...

    Ginger Beer Project

But as Mick Jagger sang "You can't always get what you want." Here's the link where I found it. http://alamo.nmsu.edu/~lockhart/EPSodas/Chapter12/12h/chap12h.htm I still have some ideas.

Thanks Dave! I have one of those DDD bottles from the landfill in S. Seattle. Its in good shape but needs tumbling. Surface is really decayed. But if you don't mind I would like to copy that info. in prev. post. Now I can log this one in and start on another. Bob Research... Eureka![:D]

    BROMO SELTZERS ON EBAY!!!!!

No, my largest BROMO is 7 3/4 inches tall, six differant sizes in my collection incl. the 2 1/2 in. w/embossed label. By the way has anybody seen a complete cobalt Bomo-Seltzer bottle collection? Bet that would get better than two bits on ebay. Research...[;)]

    Ginger Beer Project

Thanks Rick for your reply. I have been using, what we call at the concrete plant where I work, "acid wash" which is used to wash down our trucks every day. I'm sure its muratic acid, but it might be too mild for this. How concentrated is yours according to your 1 to 32. Also, am I of any...

    Ginger Beer Project

1st off, my appologies for picture quality. My DC is about as old as some of my bottles. This is the only earthware bottle I've found and as you can see it needs a little elbow grease. The before and after was from several hours of scrubbing the label area until legible using a child's...

    2-LITER AQUA

I once owned a third "big aqua" for about 1 min. before I sold it, with decomposits still dripping from the mouth (of the bottle). They are kinda common in the landfill mostly broken. One does say "2 LITER" near the base and what almost looks like... I wanna say TURKISH script above shoulder...

    Muriatic Baths

The all time cheapest and probably free way is, go to your local concrete/masonry supplier with a couple of large empty coffee cans with lids and a doz. dognuts. Ask the friendlest person around if they be willing to trade these here dognuts for any spare bulk LIME for neutralizing. Better...

Hey, while your here, I saw where other members are maybe designing a t-shirt to sell as a fund raiser. I thought that was pretty cool. [question] Has AB net...
