Yesterday I went to an antique shop and found these two poisons for a few dollars a piece. Honestly I saw the word poison, saw the low price and didn't even think about what was inside.

The big jar one, or the small med? The small med is a Sharpe and Dohme Poison, and I'd let it go for $25. The Bromo Seltzer is the harder to find Large size. I paid $45 for it a few years ago, but I'd let it go for $30.
No, it's because of the ribbed side. It was an easy way for folks to be able to tell it was hazardous in poor lighting or for those who were illiterate back in the day. The color is a great indicator too.
