    Google Earth + LiDAR

The best way to figure it out is to search for walking cam on youtube, she has a vid that explains it better than I can

    Google Earth + LiDAR

As a novice bottle hunter I have been receiving great support from the community and I still have many questions....but I want to contribute too. Recently I learned how to add a LiDAR layer to Google Earth that has literally helped me to discover dozens of places to explore, so I wanted to pass...

Another new site to find bottles!

Think I figured it out after sending camera and magnet down 36" diameter x 11.5' well. (nothing but about a foot of water down there). This whole area was vinyard.....while hillside littered with little 1' lengths of rusty wire. I think this was just a farm well. No evidence whatsoever of any...

New site on 1873 map but found 1900-1930 bottles

I think I figured it out... couldn't find a foundation or anything like that, did find/follow small metal fence that could have been used for small farm animals. The surface dump was near the "well" which I now think was just an outhouse hole. It was stone lined but o ly about 18" diameter x...

Very interesting. I will need to spend a lot more time looking around and digging test holes. Thanks for your input!

Thank you for that advice, I will try going back there this weekend and look a little closer and bring a metal detector too

Another new site to find bottles!

Thanks Leon! A couple of questions, how far from the well do you think a homesite would have been? I want to create a search grid. If that is a pipe entering through the wall of the well, I assume it points in the direction of where a structure would have been, why would there be a pipe...

Another new site to find bottles!

After some success 2 weeks ago in a state forest I followed up on a neighbors lead about an "old" property way up on a steep hill overlooking our lake. He said there was a well too. It took awhile but I found the well....it's huge! The other two wells I found at other sites were more shallow...

New site on 1873 map but found 1900-1930 bottles

I'm a novice looking for some insight from those more experienced than myself regarding a new site I searched for bottles. I found it on a 1873 map in upstate NY, it is now state forest. Nothing remains of a homesite, no foundation. I did find a narrow well that was improved. Nearby, at the...

    Can anyone identify this bottle?

Try cleaning it up to see if there's any markings on the bottom. looks like it has an applied finish and could mean early 1900s non machine made, would look super all cleaned up
