    LGW - Laurens Glass Wroks

I came across this excellent historical reference for Lauren Bottling Works looking for information on PLOTTS Soda bottle, and found it very comprehensive concerning LGW, and I thought it deserves it own thread. They bottled a lot of Coca Cola and Pepsi-Cola in the Southeast...

    Plotts soda bottle

Actually the letters are 143 LGW, which is likely Lauren's Bottling Works in Lauren, South Carolina. It is not certain, but from the website the number 143 or I43 indicates bottles produced in 1943. The following website gives a good history of the Laurens Bottling Works...

    Plotts soda bottle

It must have been a short lived production of both beer and soda. Was the PLOTT Beer dated?

    Plotts soda bottle

It was found in Orange County NC near Mebane, NC. I will check around.

    Plotts soda bottle

Does anyone know about the PLOTTS soft drink? My current guess is short lived soft drink from the 1940's, but maybe late 30's or early 50's.

    Plotts soda bottle

I will send a picture when I get it cleaned, but for clarification. PLOTTS is in big letters across the shoulder at an angle. RANDOLPH BOTTLING COMPANY is in smaller print around the base.

    Plotts soda bottle

The bottle has - 143 LGW around base. What a name! PLOTTS! I believe it doomed the product.

    Plotts soda bottle

Found a new odd soda bottle - PLOTTS Randolph Bottling Co. It is clear 6 oz. with square sides.

    Pepsi cola date?

I looked through my bottles and found the same one dated A52 without the dash, likely a 1952 bottle, and with a printed label. Yours likely had a printed label.

Seen a dome ink like this?

Oldest ink well I have, bought in China when I lived there. Not glass, but dated from the Qing Dynasty, I have not been able to date it with certain but likely 1700's to the 1800's

    Pepsi cola date?

The date is indicted by 12 A 50 making it a 1950 bottle right before they added the dash in 'Pepsi-Cola.'

    Old Rum Bottle find pre1700?

Good pictures and examples. Of course, mine is not a Mallet. It is a Squat cylinder, or transitional Mallet.
