Goodmorning bottlehunters!
I had someone ask me if this bottle is iron pontil or not. I know it was made in the 1850-60s and I’m pretty sure it is but someone was curious if it was a “snap base” or early mold blown.
Thanks ahead of time!
I saw this mold blown Lysol today nice honey amber with widdled glass. I’ve dug quite a few but never seen one like this . It was listed at $40 should I pick it up?
I’ve got an early Richmond,VA cobalt pontil squat with the misprinted N made to an M. I’m looking to trade for Nashville blobs or flasks. The bottle is in great shape no chips or cracks just average surface wear. It’s a dark midnight blue.
I dug this bottle a couple of years ago in the DC/Maryland area and haven’t had any luck on identifying it’s origins. No markings on the bottom just Charles Scherer embossed on the front panel. Anyone have an idea of who this guy was?!
Those are the first jugs that I’ve found that weren’t slick my heart was thumpin.
The labels are a first for me also I’m going to attempt to maybe put some plastic over the label so I can hopefully save what’s left!
Thank you for your compliment I’m still in shock.
