Old trash hole find no embossing but some of the label still on it

I would immediately spray the label with a clear acrylic. Otherwise it will flake off and fly away.

    Territorial Bottle

That druggist bottle has to date from 1889 or earlier as Washington became a State in 1889. Was Washington Territory prior to that. DM

    Pioneer Drug Store

The embossed Goldfield , Nevada pharm is decent. As long as it has no damage other than the stain, it will bring good money.

    H. Lake's Indian Specific

I have never seen a Lake's that was not pontiled...this one is for sure as all are. Nice bottle that sells in the range of $800-$1200. They have come down recently as quite a few have been available. American Bottle Auctions has one on their "for sale" page which remains unsold. Great find and...

olive green kellys old cabin goes BIG on ebay!

That Kelly's is a nice example but my concern is that the outside photos show much less green than the inside pics. At almost $30k it went for much more than this color has brought in recent sales. Obviously two bidders really wanted it. It goes to show that good colored bitters are very strong.

need help identifying and valuing bottles I found

The Schnapps is definitely a later version with an embossed "bulls eye" type circular pattern and definitely not any form of pontil. It dates to about 1910 or so. Value would be in the $12-$20 range at best. The clear whiskey looks to date about the same time...maybe a couple years earlier...

    Strange Color Ayer's Sarsaparilla

One slightly positive aspect of ebay is the numerous irradiated bottles popping up.You see so many nuked bottles, it gets pretty easy to spot it. As frustrated as I get thinking people are being "duped", I have chosen to let them figure it out on their own or I get this urge to intervene and...

    NUKED?

Dr. Pierce's actually come in that color quite often. Usually late ABM's but are right as rain in my opinion.

    Ethics Question

I would ask the current owners( maybe it is the bank or city) if you can clean up the trash around the house as this would definitely make it more attractive for the neighborhood and neighbors...( even for resale). I would also mention that there are some things that could be recycled and you...

How do I know if I am paying too much?

I have always believed that it all averages out with some of my collection being dug by me which is zero cost in dollars ( just time and effort), and others purchased at bargain prices. The occasional bottle which I have been looking for if a NICE example is okay if the price is strong as in the...

An interesting article written by an archeologist about the historical value of digging privys

I find it interesting that the references include a book written by and for bottle collectors.

    Two whiskey day.

The aqua Gold Dust's are scarce but not rare. This is a very nice example of this desirable fifth. The color looks rich, the embossing bold, and the condition appears excellent. Digging one is very special...congratulations! These sell in the $1500-$2500 range with the earlier amber versions...

    Unknown Dug Shard

Dr. Henry's Blood Purifyer? "Purifier" is miss-spelled on the examples I have seen. Where was the shard found? Dale

    Heckler Auctions

I have sold some quality pieces through Heckler's and purchased a few. Every transaction was at the highest level of professionalism and excellent communication.
