    I suggest you put that thing in a sealed tupper ware tub of non virgin olive oil for about six months - maybe wash it off and scrub with a nylon brush and some dish soap every once in a while, change the olive oil tof resh and redo for another six months and that axe might look a lot betrter...

    there is evidence of another structure ..or two...the yard is small...and whether it is a barn or something else we canot tell but I can say that we have located an area map that shows houses near here in 1860 and we are trying to find more maps. hints tips and suggestions on that are big time...
