    Flask?

I am probably incorrect on the license number. I’m just starting to educate myself on makers marks and such and had read that liquor bottles often had license numbers embossed on the base. Judging by the responses I must be incorrect.

    Flask?

When did the requirement for license numbers to be included on the bottle for liquor start? I was expecting to see that but there is only the one number.

    Flask?

I found this today and need some help with identification. I am a newby so this may be a simple one, but there is almost nothing to go on. The bottom has a numeral 6/9 depending on orientation. It has a flat bottom but it appears to be an indented base. It’s almost like there is an arch on the...

    Probably a dumb newbie question

I have recently discovered walking rail lines and finding insulators. It becomes addictive haha. I have found an abandoned lumber railway that operated from around 1905-1950s in my area. I’ve walked a little of it and found poles in the piles of trash, however I haven’t seen any insulators or...

    Advice on finding railroad dumps?

New to the forum and bottle digging and look forward to learning from you all. One thing I’ve got in my mind I want to try my hand at is finding old railroad dump sites. In my area one of the oldest things to be found are the railroads. I’ve started walking them and found some neat insulators...

    Hello from Alabama newbie!

Hello all! I live in central Alabama and just stumbled into the wonderful world of bottles. I have metal detected for years and love the hunt for relics of bygone days, and after finding a few bottles here and there in my searches I am trying to learn more about it. If anyone is around my area...
