I know it's not much to go on, but

That looks more like it. Rectangular vertical end panel with "OLDRYE"on one side and the oval or round panel with PITTSBURG PA on the other. Thanks for the help everyone, Yimbo

I know it's not much to go on, but

    What does the GXI-9 represent?

I know it's not much to go on, but

Looks like the eagle and oval panel are on both sides of the flask, my pictures show a square or rectangular panel on one side and a oval I'm guessing on the other. Thanks for the research and the pictures. Probably never know what it was if the "oldrye" and the oval panel are pretty common...

I know it's not much to go on, but

My friend found this bottle bottom section in a small creek and hope someone might recognize the bottle from these pictures and maybe have pictures of a whole one. 1st pic I assume is the front and says "oldrye" (the O is missing) at the bottom of a bead outlined panel. 2nd shows the bottom with...

How old is this bottle please

From my own experience don't put Draino in any bottle, I did this years ago to an old square short ink bottle and it exploded from the heat. Luckily it was in the basement on a concrete floor. Once I poured the water in it heated up really fast and shattered.

    Un-doing old repair

Thanks for the tips, all the pieces are there so there really isn't room to drill without hitting the glass( and I have some drills as small as .o135 thousands of an inch).

    Un-doing old repair

Ok, any body know someone who repairs bottles that might have an answer to my questions.

    Un-doing old repair

I have a broken bottle that I tried to repair back in the early to mid 70s. The material of choice was casting resin. I did a lousy job trying to get the pieces to fit flush and would like to dissolve the old casting resin and attempt a better repair. I don't want to scrape it out for fear it...

    Bone toothbrush

I dug the tooth brushes behind Monticello Female Seminary in Godfrey Il. They dug pits for their trash so the goods were pretty concentrated but also pretty busted. Seminary was built in 1834, most of the stuff we found was 1850s to 1870s. Because the girls came from all over the world and from...

What Kind of Insulator? Also a 2-Patent.

I have 3 lightning rod insulators and the spire off the top of a glass globe. Only 1 has a name SPRATT, looked it up and there are some purple, yellow, blue-green, clear and dark green. There's a lot of information on the sites especially the Crown Jewels site. The other 2 things in the 1st pic...

    Bone toothbrush

I also found 2 partial tooth brushes, not sure if they are bone or not, I like how the horizontal holes follow the curve of the perimeter of the head. There's an arrow with the words extra fine London on the handle. Also found 3 small vials, 2 with liquid and 1 with crystals, no idea what they are.

Forgotten Digging Finds and a Gun!

The first pistol is a Harrington and Richards Victor 2 1/2 32 cal black powder rim fire with punch mark engraving. I think it's nickel plated but not in good shape. My father-in-law gave me that and the S&W which is also 32 cal black powder rim fire, along with about 25 round someone made up for...

Forgotten Digging Finds and a Gun!

Just from what I can see your pistol looks like one I have with the birds head grip and spur trigger, (no trigger guard). I also have a S&W 32 cal black powder revolver that was sold at JW hardware in NY in 1862 but I don't think it's that kind of pistol.
