New member, first post. Hoping this forum will help me as I sort through large inherited collection. I m totally overwhelmed this point!
What I think is a sauce bottle with a partial label. I can make out Wells & Provost which research says made foods. The bottom says 215 that appears to have Front St NY. .
Pics of bottle details. Any idea on age, value, or what was really in it?

Thanks

The company made pickles and other preserved foods so I would guess that what you have is a relish or possibly ketchup bottle.

That's a great find with the label partially intact.

Nice, and would probably be of interest to food and pickle collectors, especially those putting together a run of that company's bottles, Wells & Provost, Wells & Miller, and Wells, Miller & Provost, many of which are pontiled and very desireable. Beautiful color. Take care of that label because with the lack of embossing, it's the only thing tying it to that company. Otherwise, it's just another unembossed, although pretty, bottle. Thanks for sharing it with us and we look forward to seeing what else you have in the collection.

Yes, by all means, please post more pics of your bottles. Love the drippy lip and neck lean on this one!
