I pulled this bottle sometime this year in the Charles River. Initially, I threw it in a bag with my other slicks but I rescued it from the recycling when I sorted through. I can't find a seam anywhere on the bottle and the neck is a little weird. Plus the air bubbles are long and stretched. What (if anything) do I have here?

Although it doesn't show as well as most, I believe it was turn molded and I'd date it around 1890. More than likely blown early in the day before the mold was warmed up, but zooming in on the base, I could see the telltale striations along the rim. Great and crazy color for a bottle like that. It'll look great in a run of whiskeys.

Thank you so much! This is my first confirmed 1800s bottle :) I've heard green is uncommon in lots of old bottles, is there a reason for that?

Most likely a turn mold whiskey, most are black glass.

I've dug a few of those. Nice color, love the bubbles. Turn mold for sure! Thanks for sharing!
