Never really posted stuff here so I'll post all or most of the bottles I've dug or dove up in the past.

I always found it interesting how they used to turn pretty much any animal into an oil. Bear oil, beaver oil, etc. Imagine accidentally coming home with one instead of the other and your wife or mother angrily tells you to back to the store and swap it out because bear oil won't work for joint pain, it has to be beaver

I highly doubt they would of been bottling actual " beaver " oil by the 1890's even in Canada by then there numbers were way down due to decades of over hunting for there furs which had been very valuable and so few beavers remained


we actually have a lot of beavers here now but years ago there numbers were very low due to over hunting for there furs , so doubt whatever came in that bottle actually came from a beaver

Lol. so true. I wonder if Castoreum is what was meant by beaver oil... or it was some other use entirely

I like the little Humphrey’s bottle with the logo on the top and the SCA coloring. Nice finds!
