I appreciate y'all letting me be a part of your community. Personally, I'm not a collector of bottles; however, my father was for over 60 years. He has amassed several thousand over the years (several hundred in snuff bottles alone, for example) and has delegated me to sort and sell his collection. I'm pretty sure there's quite a few "not so valuable" examples in his collection but there should be quite a few gems mixed in there as well. I've learned a lot already through this forum and other websites and will ask for your community's help on identifying some of these bottles. All of his bottles are hidden in over a hundred boxes so I guess it could be my own personal honey hole! The picture is a good portion of his collection I get to enjoy "digging" through. All of those boxes are full of bottles! DSC00651.JPG

The only one I've found so far with Texas on them is this Price-Booker pickle jar measuring 10 3/4" high. I've searched quite a bit for Price-Booker jars that size but they've all been shorter. It was made by Illinois Bottling Co with the "I in a Diamond" mark so it had to be made sometime between 1915 and 1919.

This I in a diamond mark was used from 1915 to 1929 when the Illinois Glass Company merged with the Owens Glass Company. The Owens-Illinois Glass Company (now referred as O-I) is the biggest glass company in the world. This bottle dates from the later 1910s to the earlier 1920s. Food products of that age aren’t usually valuable, period. I hardly think that a slight size difference in this bottle makes a difference in rarity, value, or desirability. And it doesn’t seem that this bottle is very rare. I’d say $15.
