First time posting to this forum although I've been enjoying the wisdom of it's users for some time now. Wondering if anyone can give me some more info on the Kick bottle I picked up at a yard sale this weekend. I'm familiar with the somewhat rare Jackson TN with the farmer in place of the "Like a Mule", but I've never seen one quite like this. Can't find one in the normal google searches either.

I like it. It’s reversed from the usual Kick label. And it has the Jackson, TN version. The bottle was made by Laurens Glass Works, the LGW on the bottom. The numerals before and after the LGW is the date the bottle was made. Hard to see in the pic. The bottom looks worn, like it’s been around sliding across counters and being refilled. I couldn’t find anything on it either. It says “Kicks” like a mule on the back, the others say Kick like a mule.
Can you reveal or tell a clear version of the date?

That is a good one. Ayers guide book vol 2 lists one like yours for 150$$. But yours is reversed from the one in the book. Great find!

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make out the date either. Looks like a 6 for sure to the left of LGW, and maybe a 5 to the right??
I hadn't noticed the difference in "Kicks" vs "Kick" with my other more common version of this bottle. That was a good catch. What are some good resources for researching this kind of thing? This forum was the only good source I really knew about. Tried searching for history of the bottle, the Kick company, logo and advertising, but didn't find this design anywhere.

Iggyworf, is that the Pepsi collectors guide you're talking about?

Yes it is. Came out in 2001.

That is an interesting one for sure. Where was the yard sale? Is it possible this is foreign like Canadian? If it is from the U.S. shoot me a text and let me try to talk you out of it :)

I would be surprised if it wasn't from US. Yard sale was in Laurens, SC. The guy had some connections with the LGW plant, said all of his bottles were Laurens Glass Works, though I didn't check that. I suppose LGW provided bottles outside of the US as well? If so I guess this one found it's way back home.

How would I determine it to be from a different country? Pretty sure I covered all of the marking on the bottle in the pics.

If you are near Laurens I would say it has to be something out of their plant. Canadian bottles are often in ML not ounces, so I would rule that out. My guess would be a prototype or just an early version. I actually started collecting in 1982 when I found a Jackson TN KICK bottle on a Thanksgiving road trip to see my family. I also drank Kick as kid. As you probably know it was the Royal Crown Cola version of Mountain Dew. In my years of collecting I have not seen your version.
