Thank you! Cheap, easy, definitely trying this.

Quite an unfortunate name for the soda, but it was produced for 115 years, so it must have been pretty good!

Unfortunately, I have no idea. The brand J&G Meakin operates from 1851 to 2000, so they could fall anywhere in there. I can narrow it down a little as all the bottles I’ve found in that spot fhavw...

There really is a seemingly endless supply, I've pulled just about everything common so far. My whole collection comes from this one spot. In all but one bottle, the ACLs are always ruined or they...

I've been digging bottles from the Charles River for a while now. It's been off and on but recently I've ramped it up and gone several times this past week. My questions revolve around the current,...
Thank you! Seems like I might need to get a new favorite, but is still a cool bottle
This is a bottle I fished out of the Charles a few years ago. I have found almost nothing about it online, even here there is only one thread about it from 2006. Apart from that there are a handful...

I took the time late at night to clean Monday's bottles so take a gander.
Monday was an okay trip. Lots of modern stuff, tons of glass shards that went straight to the trash.

Picked up some common, but still fun stuff from the river this past Thursday, Saturday, and earlier today. Here's a picture of what I pulled on Thursday.
Notable finds are Mrs. Chapin's...

Btl_Dvr, do you dive for your bottles as well? I am having a hard time finding other folks who do, even outside of this forum. I think I just haven't found the keyword for it yet.

I appreciate all the warnings, this is all very new to me and I would be bound to make a mistake without it! Thank you

Can’t argue with 30 years of good results! I’ll be trying this first. As for the steel wool, is that a viable option for cleaning the inside of the bottle too? I should have made it more clear, in...

Thanks! I will dump a bunch of photos there tonight. :)

There’s a handful of this sort lying around in my collection, I’ll make a box of them and maybe I can hand them out to kids at a yard sale like you said.
By the way, this is rather off-topic, but...

Very good point. I will clean them up and put them in storage, maybe I can set them out at a yard sale someday. And it looks like I'll have to get a little better at dating bottles. I was just going...

I will look into the cleaner, I think that's my best bet right now. I suppose I can shake the bottles to simulate an agitation. Right now I'm just using the rough side of a sponge and occasionally...

I have quite a few pre-1900 bottles with no markings lying around, is there any interest in these? If someone wants them I would be glad to send them, but I imagine interest is low. Here's a photo....

I am new to this forum but I have been collecting for about 7 years now. The majority of people here tend to dig for their bottles, I snorkel for them in the Charles River. I have always...
I know this is an incredibly old thread but this is the only other resource I've found containing any mention of a WM Albrecht. I too have one of those bottles. Information is few and far between,...
