    mystery coin? plz help!

[Not sure if this should go in this forum or the other collectables, but starting here...] My bf and I are experienced diggers, so rarely come across things that leave us totally stumped, but here's one. Anyone have any ideas? This came from a bottle/trash dump site we have been digging off and...

    NOLA Amber Coke

Found this one the other day. While I am pretty knowledgeable about the hobbleskirts (thanks SODAPOPBOB and hemihampton!!) I know very little about earlier Coke bottles. This one looks to be in pretty good shape. Any info (year? worth? Anything unique to look out for?) would be appreciated.

Dug this a few weeks ago...it's blue, it's got a skull and crossbones, so it's cool to me already--but wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it?

    Help with Hobbleskirt ID

Thanks mingoman64! I also love this entire thing, I have learned way more about Coke bottle collecting than I ever guessed I would know....but it still drives me nuts that after ALL of this the conclusion is.....nothing, no one knows.

    Help with Hobbleskirt ID

So the started actually producing and selling the bottles in Nov 2015? That’s what it says here. So then theoretically....a year of Root only manufacturing would end in Nov 2016...which isn’t the end of the year....(you can see where I’m going with this, right???!)

    Help with Hobbleskirt ID

Thought y'all might enjoy these really old pics that I found. I'm not sure date exactly, but this is a Graham Glass factory in Indiana (but not the one in Evansville I don't believe)

    Help with Hobbleskirt ID

Hey Bob, I would also consider that a pretty reliable source, so I'm not doubting you. But I do have a few questions*.... a) why have a date code for a year that no bottles were made? The Graham Glass P/Q/R/S date coding system seems to be pretty universally accepted as I have seen it...

    Help with Hobbleskirt ID

Pricing for the Hobbleskirts is crazy, it’s all over the map. I’m curious to know what mine might sell for too, despite the damage. And as you said, are there others there? If only bottles could talk, would love to know how it ended up a thousand miles away in New Orleans.

    Help with Hobbleskirt ID

Coca-Cola's website says this (link to full article below/Italics mine): "In early 1916, a committee composed of bottlers and Company officials met to choose the bottle design. The Root version was the clear winner and The Coca-Cola Company and the Root Glass Company entered an agreement to...

    Help with Hobbleskirt ID

this is really interesting! I work for a university so have access to quite a few historical databases and have been looking around too, most of the stuff that y'all have found I have seen/seen something similar but definitely haven't come across this yet.
