    What is this?

Kaleb, I predict you'll find a lot of bottles in your lifetime, but cars like that, well, maybe once. Start saving for it. ;)

    Todays finds

He can carry some of his finds in the HUGE trunk of his car. --Right alongside of the friends he is sneaking into the drive-in. :)

Creek walking. Tips, tricks and LAWS

Roy, You're good! As they say on the pa at Ocean State and elsewhere--Whoo! Whoo!

    Repro?

Kaleb, Fyi-You have weaker embossment on your example (this is common.) Historical repros have pretty much gone cold, which means, even with blue glass, they are s-l-o-w sellers...

    Todays finds

Kaleb, Fruit jars were one of my first collections.-- Don't think of the lids as near worthless. They have become collectible and sought after by others to complete the closures of their canning jar(s) that don't have one. Check out "The Red Book" for closure values. Its usually given as a % of...

    What is this?

With all due respect I wouldn't want to be your horse. --I believe this is part of a fireplace grate. I miss my '73 Charger SE. Love the color on your Super Bee!

    Todays finds

Kaleb, An interesting assortment. (Love that last pic.) ...Here's another way to look at your day's work. The larger picture reveals many fruit /canning jar lids. What is missing? Intact bottoms to those lids/the containers themselves. Also, that sole ceramic piece of a crock is lonely too...

Creek walking. Tips, tricks and LAWS

My first go to is a WWII G. I. back pack. (small version) Let whoever think what they want. If you're after bots old clothes are a must. I'd think twice about someone out of place (dressed to impress) while in the woods.

    I need advice.

Kaleb, What might not be clear is that there are stages for cleaning methods. You'll probably use two or more depending at which level you jump in at. You will also develop a different probe, wadding, and cleaning agents for various bot mouths and stains. Think of it as a new tool box you're...

    Repro?

I can't make out any base embossment. At least it doesn't say Made in Taiwan or Wheaton/Milldale, NJ. The blue glass will get you about $5-10.

Advice for first permission dig? 1760 home site

Catie, The homeowners seem very nice. Why not give them first dibbs in some form. Choice of first bot perhaps. Maybe the first three., the first (_?_.) Maybe they want a representative donation of local bottles to the county historical society in their name (tx ded.) Your dig could be on...

Managed a walk in the river and digging, in between a couple Dead and Co. Shows.

Nice finds Mailman1960. I think you should be awarded another maroon stripe for your uniform. Special recognition should be in order for the Dead Concert pic! Thanks!!

    "Certo" bottle. How old?

Hey Kaleb, Upon closer inspection that might be a Whitall Tatum Co. mark. Large company with other similar marks on glass, like insulators, etc.

Hey Roy, most aren't from CT. They don't silently correct grammar. (Oops! I have to cut back on those contractions. Apologies. ;) By the way, just use the edit button to relieve that Nutmegger anxiety. )

    "Certo" bottle. How old?

Used in canning. I can't quite make out the mark in your pic but I'd guess this one is from 1953. Certo in these amber glass bottles was fairly common through the '60s in my neck of the woods. ...Today, on a good day, about $10. --Nice car Kaleb. -- :) Keep digging and good hunting!

Okay, maybe its obvious but here's a reminder- There a new thing out called a phone. Don't leave it in your vehicle. Check the boxes and cover home base for safety.

First bottle hunt in the USA

I'd guess and say (without consulting the "Red Book") that Codd's are canning jars. (If it contained the classic liquid then why the glass inserts?) Additionally, I have just picked up an old White House vinegar bottle. It has a pour spout. (It also has a long dead mouse inside. --A fairly...

    First pickups over here

I believe you did very well. The amber beer has to be double of the other. ;) Thank you for buying American and sharing.
